Saturday night marked the opening of Meth & Hot Dogs 2 at LIFT Designer Toys. A huge thank you to all of the uber-talented artists involved in the show and all the lovers of the demented, cute and strange who came out to show their support. You made it an amazing night!

Meth & Hot Dogs 2: A Collection of Even MORE Unscrupulous Characters opens this Saturday at Lift! This show will be packed to the brim with artwork celebrating the cute and deranged. We hope you can join us from 7-10pm for the opening.

After Kristin Tercek (aka Cuddly Rigor Mortis) graduated Film School at NYU she and her husband started Cha-Pow! A digital ink, paint and animation studio that landed them work with companies like Coke, Elmo’s World and Saturday Night Live.
A few years later, in 2005, Kristin started Cuddly Rigor Mortis as a hobby. She began hand sewing plush dolls of her own design and gained quite the following through gallery shows and exposure in magazines.

After three years of repeatedly sewing the same patterns painting began calling out to her. Diving into a sea of bright acrylics she began to create fantastic pieces that feature adorable, wide eyed characters that have something darker lurking just below the surface…

Emi Slade’s love for science fiction & cephalopods is undeniable. Her wondrous creations pull you in with their bright, wide eyes before wrapping their tentacles around you for the kill.

Meth & Hot Dogs 2 is a celebration of character art in all its forms. The exhibit will bring together a group of 36 artists whose illustrations, plush, custom toys, sculptures and paintings show an appreciation for the demented, cute and strange. M&HD2 opens April 30th.

Romiette Lindsley is a self described fan of cupcakes, pink, lavender, sweets and…. MONSTERS! While you might not think that monsters fit into the category of “cute” you will once you see her work. Combining bright, boldly colored vinyl she crafts adorable one of a kind creatures that you can cuddle one minute and count on to ward off intruders the next.

Miss Hansma is a lowbrow illustrator hailing from the Metro-Detroit area. Her colorful and humorous artwork usually features her signature Puff Bun characters paying homage to entertainment and pop culture.
Heather took part in the first Meth & Hot Dogs show in St. Louis and we’re thrilled to have her back for the sequel! Check out her website for more samplings of her work and see what craziness she puts on canvas when Meth & Hot Dogs 2 opens this April.


JC Rivera is an artist based out of Chicago, IL who has been painting and illustrating for the last 7 years. His work has included t-shirt designs, logos, books, stunning paintings and most recently some insanely detailed custom toys. JC also designed his own character by the name of Jonny Hancock, a vinyl toy that is based on Chicago’s iconic Hancock Building.
